Establishing connections with other members is easy, and it is a great way to build a community of friends with whom you can communicate individually or as a group. You should also have a look at Navigating the Profiles of Other Members for an overview of member profile functions.

Selectable items appear in bold type and menu names and variable text are italicized.

After your registration is complete and you have logged in to Open2it, locate the User Menu in the left side bar, just below the Main Menu. In the User Menu, select Open2it Members, which links to a complete list of registered members. This list displays the member's avatar, username, online status indicator ( online or offline) and basic membership history statistics.

Click on the avatar or username of a member with whom you would like to establish a connection.`In the member's profile you will see a line that reads: "There is no established connection between you and member's username."

If you have established connections with another member and that member is connected to the member to which you wish to send a connection request, you will see a connection path. This path can be quite variable, depending upon the actual connection path, but will have the following general form:

Your connection path to member to connect with ( 2 degrees ):
your username member you are conneted with member to connect with

At the top of the panel appears a button bar. Mouse over the Connections item. In the dropdown menu, select Request Connection.

A popup window will appear into which you may type a message to invite the member to establish a connection with you. Click the Submit button to send the request.  After sending your request the text line in the member's profile will read "The direct connection with member's username is Pending Acceptance!"
